food adventures galore

in order to keep track of my gastromonical adventures, i have decided to write an account of my different food trips.

last saturday, we went to serendra and had dinner at gaudi. since now i'm in my cashless state, i decided to go for the cheapest food in the main course-- san jacobo. from how it was describe in the menu, it was their version of cordon bleu with manego cheese.

but before that, we all had an appetizer. which didn't really get anyone's vote. it was a sampler of some sort with beef, chorizos on bread, etc. etc. serving was too little and their appetizers were bland.
and on to the main course...

at Php 280, i wasn't expecting a chunky serving of chicken. vegetables were bland. potatoes were good (everyone helped in finishing it). Chicken was good. Though it was noticeable that the cooking was a little uneven with a darker coating on the other side.

Maisie and soph had Steak with pepper sauce. Beef was tender and the piece was thick as well. It was definitely tastier than what we had in Duo last month. Its potato sidings--shoestring potatoes weren't that good, but good enough to munch on.

Karen and Berns both had Beef Salpicado. It was unexpectedly spicy, which makes it different to the other salpicados of the world. However, i found it a little off on how they placed the rice on the plate. kind of reminded me on how school cafeterias would dump rice.

In terms of service, clearly, with its "soft-opening" disclaimer (which has been there since forever), their service could have been better. Disappointing since their service charges are pretty big (given how expensive their menu items are). It took me forever and a day to have my glass refilled with water. Overall, don't bother with appetizers. Just go with their main course.

If patience were to be sold in ebay, wonder how much that would cost.
